TORONTO CONCENTRATEd: food culture of all the cultures

COME DINE WITH US (416) 792-1784 / Reservations

what we do

Peoples Eatery, first and foremost, is about the culture and people of Toronto.  For many years, people begrudged our young city as not having a food culture of it's own - an idea we reject completely. Toronto's food culture is a culture of all of the cultures, and that is exactly what we celebrate every day at Peoples Eatery.

Personally, we love to eat all the best food from the furthest corners of city - so what we aim to accomplish at Peoples is a dining experience where one eats a range of dishes from a range of cultures, as if  taking a tour of the city, eating in good restaurants at every stop.

food

First and foremost, we're here to enrich your lives with thoughtful, delicious food. We serve full dinner seven days a week until 11pm, and a smaller but still satisfying late-night menu until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.

drink

We pick every wine, beer, and cocktail with close consideration to value, pride of place, and above all: deliciousness. Come crush beers and blackbirds or try half pours from our carefully selected wines by the glass; we offer a lotta strokes for a lotta different folks.

hospitality

It's at the core of everything we hold near and dear:  When you visit we want to take care of you, like an old friend from a distant land.

Eat all of the things

Crunch-to-squish ratio (CSR) is at the heart of everything Chef/Partner Dustin Gallagher makes.

You've gotta eat it to believe it.

Eat all of the things

Crunch-to-squish ratio (CSR) is at the heart of everything Chef/Partner Dustin Gallagher makes.

You've gotta eat it to believe it.

Our kitchen produces what could be considered a multicultural bistro-style menu, with dishes ranging from pork belly 'al pastor' to perfectly cooked striploin, to chinatown-style seabass with blackbean and delicate agnolotti in brodo.  While we sincerely believe that sharing is caring, our menu is designed to be had in the traditional appetizer-main-dessert mode, or can be easily enjoyed as a full-on sharing experience.  We encourage guests to choose their own adventure, but are more than happy to write that story for every table's likes and dislikes.

Our capable kitchen is led from the top by Executive Chef Dustin Gallagher and with Chef de Cuisine Brian Ho at the helm for everyday execution.

And in case you were wondering, we cure and smoke our meats and fish - and support a number of small local bakeries and purveyors.  Believe us when we say a lot of love goes into everything we offer.

The Peoples People

The Peoples Eatery people are four friends: Matt See, Dustin Gallagher, David Stewart, and Adrian Ravinsky.  The latter two are the proprietors of 416 Snack Bar, a place well-known for, well, it's snacks and bar.  Matt is a gregarious fellow known for slinging drinks about town since forever, generally killing the game and giving people what they want.  Dusty is also a barrel of laughs, but first and foremost is a chef whose craft is in his bones and cares mostly about crunch-to-squish ratio, a clean and tidy station, and keeping his food and kitchen fun.
